House Mock Up

Article

The New Year issue.
The lookout for all new up & coming artists.
As the year draws to a close with the introduction of an indie sound, with music from the likes of Mumford & Sons and Two Door Cinema Club hitting the charts; presenting a new sound that has converted festivals and changing the ‘typical ’music we were all jaded of seeing in the top 40 UK.
So we're also looking forward to what 2012 has in store for us. So consider this our shot at predicting the future, using a set of headphones as opposed to a crystal ball.
It’s all about word of mouth and these artists need it! They are all raw talents and ‘Kingdom’ believes they are the ones to look out for- so get in there quickly before they storm the charts like last year’s Ed sheeran and it’s too late!
They all have a new-fangled sound that you’ll love…and we have all the gossip.
We've selected 8 new acts that we think you need to watch out for in the coming months and years. These are singers and rappers and those who spend their time producing and remixing--the people who deliver fresh, innovative music to our ears. So take note of these are names if you aren’t already clued up on them. Here are 'the best' 5 artists to watch in 2012.

Prep for finial magazine.

After research, i found 7 'up and coming' bands of 2012 that matched the sound that out magazine related to and bands that would intrest our target market/audience. Offering advice and infomation is desirable within a magazine as people feel involved in the gossip and lives of the artists the love to listen too.

I added witty and easy to read captions as our target audience is more likely to me a young generation, meaning a formal text would be less appealing. Easy reading makes things more intresting and 'hooking' making it more likely that the reader will come back to our magazine monthly.

Adding in Gossip gives the 'exclusivity' factor to the magazine and talking about the artsist whereabouts, like tours and new albums gives important infomation to the fans/readers!

THE JACK KENWORTHY BAND!

Tuesday 10 January 2012

choosing our band!

To find out what type of music/band to present on our frount page we used our research to find bands that are usually related to indie music; such as Mumford & Sons, Biffy Clyro, Two Door Cinema Club, Ben Howard...
We then searched our local ares for bands that had a similar image, style, sound and atmosphere that indie music is so well known for. We found many local bands but found a band that already had a fanbase and fit the indie rock genre pefectly allowing us to create a cover that our audience would find apealing and would to get involved with.

we chose a band called... The Jack Kenworthy Band.

Prep for final Magazine.

Fonts to use on our magazine, as the headline- we felt this type of font was most suited to the genre of our magazine (indie rock) and will give the magazine an edge to others that relate to our chosen genre; making it desirable to a consumer.

Most of the the chosen fonts are easy to read, eye catching and have a graphic edge, again apealing to out genre as through are reasearch we found that consumers of indie music also resemble punk and rock music likes- the distroted writing related to all music genres widening our potential audience. Also the colour black is an important part to the magazine cover, again through research we found that black and small bursts of colour is often related to our genre of indie rock.
